Ashley Beauchamp

Pianist, Conductor & Opera

Ashley Beauchamp is a British pianist and conductor who studied at the Opera School of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He previous graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with first-class honours, studying with renowned song-pianist Eugene Asti. There, he was the winner of the Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Prize, the English Song Competition and the recipient of the David Gosling Prize for excellence in accompaniment, the Alan J Kirkby Conducting Prize and the Charles Proctor Prize for Choral Conducting.

As an opera repetiteur, conductor and coach, Ashley has worked on over 30 different productions. This season sees Ashley return to Waterperry Opera Festival to conductor their production of Hansel and Gretel, and he joins Nevill Holt Opera as Head of Music for their 2020 Season of Don Giovanni and La Traviata. This autumn, Ashley is assistant conductor for the world premiere of Pay the Piper at Glyndebourne. Recent highlights include repetiteur for The Intelligence Park for the the Royal Opera House/Music Theatre Wales, repetiteur for Fantasio with Garsington Opera, music director for Mansfield Park with Waterperry Opera and assistant conductor for La Belle Hélène with Blackheath Halls Opera.

A passionate advocate of music education and outreach, Ashley is the Assistant Musical Director of the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus, and works regularly with the youth opera companies and education departments of the Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne. He has also done outreach projects and workshops for English National Opera, Grange Park Opera, Garsington Opera, Blackheath Halls, the Brighton Dome, the British Red Cross and many other organisations introducing thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds to opera every year.

Ashley also performs regularly with internationally-renowned flautist, Stephen Clark, most recently appearing together in New York to give a masterclass and concert.
