The Brompton Quartet

The Brompton Quartet are delighted to have won the 2019 St Martin in the Fields Chamber Music Competition in March, and have already worked with artists such as Daniel Rowland (Brodsky Quartet), Mats Zitterqvist (Chamber Orchestra of Europe), Rafael Todes (Allegri Quartet), Richard Lester, Suzie Mészáros, Jon Thorne and the Harlem and Marmen Quartets. They recently travelled to Geneva to partake in the Swiss Chamber Academy, where they worked closely with Heinz Holliger.

All four members of the quartet are also active orchestral musicians and soloists, and have participated in festivals including Prussia Cove, St. Endellion, and Padova and Stift International Music Festival. Prizes won by individual members of the group include 1st prize at the 13th Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Strumentisti, 3rd prize and the Szymanowski award at the 1st International Karol Szymanowski Competition in Katowice, Poland, 1st prize at the International Tartini Competition, the Cambridge University Instrumental Award, and the Inaugural Peterhouse Camerata Musica chamber music prize.

The Brompton Quartet continue to explore a diverse range of repertoire and are looking forward to regular recitals in and around London and the UK, at venues including Conway Hall, Kings Place and the Red House, Aldeburgh. They are thrilled to have been awarded the 2019 Boconnoc award and residency, where they will give two concerts in the beautiful setting of the Boconnoc Estate, Cornwall. Later this year, they will be giving Last year they were winners of the 2019 St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Competition.recitals in Italy, Slovenia and Austria.
