Hamish Brown

Hamish Brown is a London-based pianist, whose work has included performances as a vocal accompanist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and soloist. He is currently the Gilbert & Eileen Edgar and Anthony Saltmarsh Collaborative Piano Fellow at the Royal College of Music, and a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

Hamish is recipient of the pianist prizes at the Mozart Singing Competition and Somerset Song Prize, and was a finalist and Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme Prize winner at the 2019 Wigmore Hall/Independent Opera International Song Competition.

As a former Oxford Lieder Young Artist, he has performed at St John’s, Smith Square, Oxford Lieder Festival, Internationaal Lied Festival Zeist, and Heidelberger Frühling. Hamish has also performed at venues including Cadogan Hall, V&A Museum, Royal Festival Hall and King’s Place, at events including the Aldeburgh, Leeds Lieder and Deal festivals, as well as live on BBC Radio 3.

Hamish read music at the University of Manchester, continuing with postgraduate studies in Piano Accompaniment, studying with Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles at the Royal College of Music, where he was awarded first prizes in accompaniment for all four major RCM vocal competitions.
